Terms and Conditions
RentaCarIreland exclusively uses Hertz, Irelands #1 Car rental Company offering the largest and newest selection of vehicles in Ireland.
If not otherwise stated all rates displayed below and on the site are shown inclusive of Tax.
Your Rental
Pricing includes rental charges, Unlimited Mileage, Collision Damage Waiver, Theft Protection, Location Service Charge, breakdown service and taxes.
Location opening hours
Airport locations are open to meet all scheduled flights. Dublin Downtown opens from 8:30 am through to 5:30 pm Monday to Friday and from 9:00 am thru 4:30 pm Saturday & Sunday. Wexford Downtown opens from 09:00 am through to 05:30 pm Monday to Friday.
Drivers License
All Drivers must hold and produce at time of rental a Full and Current National driver’s license valid for at least one year. Renters with UK photo card driving licences must have the 2 parts of their current driving licence in their possession at time of rental.
Drivers
Must be between the ages of 25 years and 75 years to rent a car. Drivers from 25 years to 29 years are restricted to the following groups – A, B, C, & E.
Additional drivers
Charged at € 9.50 per day in Southern Ireland & £9 per day (ex vat) in NI
Credit Card
On arrival, you will be asked to present your credit card, please take the same credit card that you used to pre-pay for your rental, it is important to note that the card holder must be present at time of pick up. This credit card is required for the excess/deductible and additional services and insurances taken such as extra drivers, fuel etc…. It is important to make sure that there is sufficient credit on your card to cover all additional charges including the excess/deductible.
Grace period
Clients are allowed 29 minutes from time of pick up.
Cross Border Driving
RentaCar Ireland operates in both the North and South of Ireland so there is no extra fee for Cross border driving. Vehicles may not be taken off the Island of Ireland, failure to adhere to this will leave all insurances taken null and void.
Southern Ireland one way Rentals
A one-way rental in Southern Ireland will incur the following fees:
- For rentals of 1 to 4 days the fee is €70. Rentals 5+ days and over the fee is €25
- For Rentals commencing in Southern Ireland & returning to Northern Ireland the fee is €160
Northern Ireland one way Rentals
Are free between Belfast locations. For rentals between Derry Airport & Belfast locations the fee is £50
For Rentals commencing in Northern Ireland & returning to Southern Ireland the fee is £120
Excess Amounts
All vehicles have an excess/deductible amount ranging from €1200 to €2500 based on the size or value of the car reserved. For rentals commencing in Northern Ireland amounts range from £550 - £1400.
An additional ‘Super-Cover’ insurance can be purchased at time of rental to limit this excess.
Super Cover
Is optional and available at time of rental as an enhancement to your mandatory insurances to reduce any damage deductible to Zero*. The fee for this is from € 10 - € 16 per day in Southern Ireland & £13- £20 per day in Northern Ireland. Clients must be 30 yrs or over to avail of this additional cover.
*Please note no insurance will cover you for damage to Tyres, loss of Keys, Contamination of fuel or Neverlost Navigation units*
Baby Seats
Are available to Pre-book for a fee of €40 payable at the desk on arrival. Booster Seats are available for a fee of €15 payable at the desk on arrival. For NI rentals Baby seats are £9.00 per day (ex VAT)
GPS units
Using satellite Navigation makes driving in Ireland so much easier, portable units are available to pre-book for a fee of €14.00 (excluding tax) per day & €65.00 (excluding tax) per week in Southern Ireland and for a fee of £14.00 (excluding tax) per day & £65.00 (excluding tax) per week in Northern Ireland- which is payable at desk upon arrival.
Tolls/Fines
Barrier free tolling is in place between Junction 6 and 7 on the M50 in Dublin. There is no cash payment facility at this point. Please note that Hertz have all of their vehicles registered with the Toll Operator and therefore Hertz will be automatically charged for each toll incurred. A toll fee of €3.00 per usage will be charged to you directly by Hertz. Hertz will be advised after the rental of the toll charge accrued for each rental and will charge your credit card separately.
Cancellation Policy
If you wish to cancel your reservation for any reason, you must telephone RentaCarIreland on (+44) 0289 084 2534 and be ready to quote the information contained on the front of your Reservation Confirmation. Cancellation is not valid by any other method and must be made before 24hours advance of pick up time. Cancellations made before 24 hrs will receive a full refund. Any cancellation made after this time will incur a 15% administration fee.
Early Return
Please note that we are unable to give a refund for any unused portion of the rental.
